Terranova is the Latin word for Newfoundland, as the name of the Canadian province. In a metaphorical sense, our institution is precisely a new land for many students, a place where the student is the center of attention and where smiling is welcome.
Terranova High School was founded in 2004. Since then, our goal has been to give high quality education for young people with entrepreneurial spirit, who are thirsty for knowledge, and willing to prepare themselves to confront the challenges of a globalized world.
To achieve such purpose, our high school (K-12) became the first school in Ecuador to offer three programs of the International Baccalaureate: PYP Primary Years Program, MYP Middle Years Program, and DP Diploma Program. We imposed ourselves such
challenge in order to use only internationally recognized teaching methodologies, and also for evaluating our performance by the same measure as the best world educational institutions.
With each class graduated from our high school, we have resumed our commitment for continuous improvement in offering our country and the world an educational alternative, which complies with international standards engaged in our society’s progress.
“To be a tri-lingual educational community of integral leaders, motivators, capable of generating changes for the future and facing the demands of the world with positivism, decision and autonomy for their benefit and that of others.”
“To be an educational institution of teamwork and proactive, where personal differences are valued, cultural diversity and where responsibilities with the nation and the world are inculcated and assumed.
We teach to achieve excellence and achieve communication, respect and intercultural understanding. “
